The scientific name for kissing is
philematology and this is how it’s spelled:
Philematology.
How many people have you kissed? In
1990, at the Minnesota renaissance festival, Alfred Willful
kissed 8,001 people in just 8 hours. That’s over 16 people
a minute. Man, I hope he didn’t get any diseases.
The average person spends about two
weeks of their lives kissing. That’s 336 hours.
You probably think that kissing is a
very universal practice, however, in some cultures, for
example, the Chinese culture, they didn’t kiss until they
were influenced by the westerns and they’re still not very
keen on it today.
If regular kissing isn’t good enough
for you, try kissing under water. The longest recorded kiss
under water was two minutes and eighteen seconds, in Tokyo
Japan in the year 1980. Try holding your breath that
long.
The term French kiss came to America
in 1923 as a slur for the French culture. The French
culture was shockingly thought to be over sexed.
Your lips are very sensitive. So
sensitive that they are 200 times more sensitive than your
fingertips.
Think about it, when you kiss do you
turn you head to the left or to the right? Well in a
research study conducted in Germany, they found that 2/3 of
people turn their heads to the right when kissing.
When you kiss, you release the same
chemical messengers as you do when you’re engaging in
intense physical activity.
Do you kiss with your eyes open, or
closed? In a study, 66% of people kiss with their eyes
closed. Now the rest of you, in my opinion, are just
creepy. I kissed this guy once and I felt like I was being
watched, so I opened my eyes a little bit and there he was
with his eyes wide open and I was just like, “Whoa man!
This is creepy. I can’t do this anymore.”
